British Airways Wi-Fi login: how to connect on board

Short answer

Connect to the network BAWi-Fi, then open https://shop.ba.com if the sign-in page does not appear by itself.

Step by step

  1. 01Wait for the crew to say the service is on — usually around 10,000 ft, about 10 minutes after take-off.
  2. 02In Wi-Fi settings, join the 'BAWi-Fi' network.
  3. 03Enable Flight Mode. Pick one device and stick with it — you cannot switch the connection between devices mid-flight.
  4. 04Open a browser; the .air homepage should load automatically, otherwise type shop.ba.com.
  5. 05For free messaging, tap the 'free messaging' banner and sign in or sign up to The British Airways Club.
  6. 06Otherwise select and buy the package you want — you can purchase as a guest without an account.

Worth knowing before you pay

  • One device per session, and you cannot move the connection to another device once chosen.
  • Free Messaging is text only — no images or video — and works on a single device.
  • In First, BA suggests using the free Browse & stream package on your main device and the free Messaging pass on a second one.
  • If you forget your Club password you cannot reset it in the air without first buying a browse package.
  • Service switches off shortly before landing.

How we know

Checked against British Airways's own Wi-Fi page on 2026-08-02.

What we could not confirm:

  • What determines where you land inside each price band.
  • Whether Starlink aircraft still show paid packages in the portal.

Airlines change these terms without notice. Treat this as a strong prior, not a guarantee.
